A previous study of health and safety concerns associated with firefighting (IRSST Project 95-039) recommended the development of a new accident report form designed specifically for firefighting accidents. The fire departments of the municipalities participating in the study have supported that recommendation and participated actively in the development of the new form. This new form was field-tested and will be used in one of the two municipalities as of 1998. The adoption of this accident data collection tool promotes the dissemination of the initial project's analytical model of accidents. L'Association paritaire du secteur affaires municipales (the joint sector-based association for the municipal affairs sector) has expressed its desire to distribute this form to all the fire departments in Quebec
