Integrated Analysis of Data on the Work of Subway Operators and on the Vibrations to Which They are Exposed: Preparatory Study the Third Component of the Miniprogram

Researchers: Marie Bellemare (U. Laval), Sylvie Beaugrand (IRSST), Christian Larue (IRSST), Jérôme Boutin (IRSST), Paul-Émile Boileau (IRSST)

This study is part of the miniprogram called "Integrated Workstation Ergonomic and Vibration Analysis and Design Projects: Application to Subway Cabs." Its aim is to prepare the tools and methods needed for the joint analysis of the data on vibration and on subway operators' activity. Working hypotheses will be formulated and knowledge will be developed on the links between vibration exposure and the task of these workers. Based on criteria established in a previous study, a driver's cab prototype will be produced and tested. These technical and methodological developments will be useful for both the development of the third component of the miniprogram and other research projects, in particular on the ergonomics of vehicle driving.
