Interdisciplinary Research Consortium on Knowledge Transfer, Industrial Accidents and Their Context

Researcher: Danièle Champoux (IRSST)

Researchers from the IRSST, the Université de Sherbrooke and Memorial University of Newfoundland as well as members of SafetyNet obtained a joint grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) enabling them to create an interdisciplinary research consortium in occupational health and safety. Established for five years, this regional partnership of three organizations will take on new members. By doing so, the consortium will be able to improve its capacity for research and knowledge transfer in the area of occupational injuries as well as to offer multi-site study periods, a knowledge transfer laboratory, three symposiums and a summer institute. With the help of the Réseau en réadaptation au travail du Québec (RRTQ), it will offer graduate and postdoctoral training, develop new analysis and prevention models, and promote the rapid dissemination of research results to a broad range of economic sectors in Eastern Canada.
