Studies of the Chair in Mental Health At Work identify, among other things, the lack of recognition from co-workers and supervisors as a risk factor most strongly associated with a high level of psychological distress. In a context of resource constraints and modernization of public administrations, recognition becomes a key issue that helps workers cope with these changes while maintaining their physical and mental health and their dignity. The present study is intended first for officials in provincial government agencies. Its aim is to draw up an inventory of recognition and appreciation practices in the workplace, to analyze the conditions and the processes of their implementation, to develop decision-support models and systems, and lastly, to produce knowledge transfer materials (video, guide and solution banks) which will be useful for these officials. The knowledge produced within this research will then be disseminated to a wider public.
