For about twenty years, the construction industry has been the subject of many studies and the CSST has increased and varied the types of intervention in order to reduce the risks of occupational accidents. These efforts have produced results and the number of accidents on Quebec construction sites has decreased considerably. However, since the number of accidents is still high, this sector must redouble its effort to reduce the considerable gap that separates it from other sectors. A research team wanted to determine the conditions likely to affect the application of preventive measures in the construction industry. In this report, the conditions are grouped under the following: general context, business context, construction site, the collective actors and the individual. The results are presented according to a theoretical breakdown developed by the author. Proposals are also made to promote the application of preventive measures.
