Working Conditions and the Health and Safety of Quebec Workers: Descriptive and Prospective Analysis of Trends Based on Data from the 1998 General Survey on the Health and Well-Being of the Population
Researcher: Danièle Champoux (IRSST)
The transformation of the world of work is creating new conditions likely to affect the health and safety of workers. The researchers will use data from the General Survey of the Health and Well-being of the Population, conducted in 1998 by the Institut de la statistique du Québec, to draw up a sectoral and occupational profile of these organizational and physical conditions, document the special case of small companies, develop indicators, then analyze exposure to constraints as a function of workers' age and gender. The results of this project will provide additional information to support the research and enhance certain research issues of the IRSST, promote a forward-looking analysis in this regard, and target groups at risk. The results will provide workplaces and the health and safety network with useful information for their interventions.
